How It Works

The Quick Code Advantage

Below you will find some FREE tips taught in Code Quick that have helped lots of people get through their code challenge. We like to consider ourselves masters in the education of Morse code. Just like accredited online MBA programs, we can be trusted. We sincerely hope these educational tips can help you as well!

Code Quick helps you get over the Morse Code hump.

Here's A Procedure to Get You Over The Top

To copy code at 20wpm, practice using a log system from the start. During each QSO, log the items as you hear them without writing everything down, which helps you focus on the important data and reduces the chance of falling behind. Minimize distractions with headphones and cover your work with a 3x5 card as you write. If you miss a letter, make a dash and slide the card to keep your place. Remember, like in poker, don't get distracted while the game is on; there's time to review after the code is finished. When starting out, you can't use both logging and covering at the same time!

Advanced Drills: Avoiding "Brain Fry"

Whistle While You Work!

Like Snow White’s dwarfs, you can send code by whistling. Just whistle each sign you see—keep it simple with one tone, and avoid your favorite tunes!

Avoid Brain Fry!

Experiencing a mental freeze while copying code? You might skip letters and feel lost. To improve, practice deliberately missing letters. Start with faster code, decide to miss some letters, and dash for each missed one. Copy every other letter and mark the skips with a dash. When you're done, see how much you can fill in. You don't need a perfect copy to ace the test!

How about now?

How about now?

I _i_e _n _m_r_c_. (Missed every other letter)
I l_ve _n A_er_ca. (Missed every 3rd letter)
I li_e in _mer_ca. (Missed every 4th letter)
I liv_ in Am_rica_ (Missed every 5th letter)

It's crucial to focus on numbers during calls; they’ll be repeated at the end of the transmission. Missing them can lead to confusion.

A great tip from a ham at Hamcon in Long Beach: If you struggle with scheduling, create a time card to track your practice sessions. He signed in and out, leading to significant improvement in just a few months!

During QSOs, listen for essential information preceded by "IS." For example:

Name IS...

QTH IS...

Ham call IS...

WX IS...

Practice recognizing "IS" to help you identify important info quickly.

It Works - Here's Why!

  • When you do it that way, the part of the brain at work is where you store environmental sounds like thuds, thunks, clunks and squeaks. In that part of the brain, length of the sound and frequency are quite sound specific. If you change the pitch or the length of the sound, definition is lost. So, people who do it that way might copy 20WPM code but not 12WPM code because the characters make totally different sounds to them. Its a ton of hard work learning several sets of code in the weakest part of the brain, and like learning music, some are talented, but most of us are not so lucky.

  • We are so confident of your success that we'll buy you any other Morse code course of your choice if you try ours and then you are disappointed!

  • Other learning systems depend on you memorizing a sound and its corresponding code. Nothing ties dah-di-di to a D. But there is a way to do it!

  • Only Code Quick teaches each character as a sound-alike in simple English.

  • It's the natural way you think in the language center of your brain where all the power is! The letter "D" shows a picture of a dog messing your carpet. Think "dog did it" not dah-di-di. It's that simple! Ugly thought = memory glue! Each character has been carefully researched and it will stick for you!
  • Our company can stay alive only if it works, because 80% of our orders are word of mouth!
  • Over 60,000 success stories over 40 years. Just ask hams who learned Code Quick. They will tell you it is fast, fun and it sticks forever!

  • Learn it this way and keep your skill for a lifetime! Learn it wrong and forget it tomorrow!

  • It's cheap considering the 100's of hours you'll save! It's easy since it goes to the language brain, the strongest and fastest part of your brain!
  • You owe it to yourself to add this skill that could save your life or the life of your family member!

  • There are a few nay-sayers out there. Guys who never tried Code Quick who might tell you it is just a crutch that eventually slows down copy. They still remember how it took them more than a couple of years to learn code by sweat and tears! (Maybe they would rather you suffer like they did!)

  • Why not enjoy the prestige that comes as a coded ham?
  • Best of all, you can master it in as little as 12 hours!
  • Hundreds of Preppers have added Morse code to their survival kit! When all else fails, you'll still get through, even with a flashlight!

"18 years since I took your code class... even though I don't use the 'key' at all any more, I still have not forgotten any of the code—can translate it when it appears in any form. Amazing!"

"It seems every new guy I meet on the air learned with Code Quick also. I also posted my views about Code Quick in the E-HAM product reviews. I would be honored to have my letter used."
