First I would like to ask you life's most important
questions.
1. Where did I come from?
2. Why am I here?
3. What's next after this life?
If you answered any of these as "I don't know" or
only "I think I know" then you need to read what comes below carefully and
prayerfully. Pray this prayer: "God, if all this is real, please show me."
Man has always sought the meaning of these three
questions. Somehow our creator built into us a longing for the answers, but we
are locked into a three dimensional world that only lets us see so much. These
questions are hard for us to answer without knowledge coming from outside our
time/space continuum.
Fortunately, God never meant for us to struggle
without help with these questions.
You are probably aware that the evolutionary
hypothesis that tried to give an answer to where came from has ended in a dead
end since the discovery of the complexity of the DNA molecules that make us
tic. Cellular structure, not understood in the 1800's, shows that man evolving
from slime is an absurdity. Any being as complex as man could never just have
happened. It would be more sane to think that an airliner could just evolve
from a junk yard if you gave it enough time! The intricate design of man shows
that he must have had a designer of magnitudes greater intelligence than
himself. The fact that to sustain life necessitates a critical balance of
almost limitless environmental factors cries out for design.
(Click here for amazing info on this subject) It seems illogical to think we just
happened on the one spot in the Universe with perfect conditions, uniform for
billions of years, for the evolution of man. The Bible is clear that man was
created by an infinitely intelligent source who made man for His own Glory.
(Footnote 1) You were no accident of nature, but were created by a God who chose
to see you exist and who knew you even in your mother's womb. That changes your
status from nothing in a nothingness Universe to a person of extreme importance.
The Bible claims that this same God who made you had
a plan for your life when you were created. He didn't just create you and let
things roll. He desired a thinking, deciding being with whom to have
fellowship. He longed for someone made like Himself in many ways. However,
after creating man, His creation failed to live up to the perfection of His
being. (See Footnote 2) To show just how far man missed the mark, God gave to
Moses the Ten Commandments (See Footnote 3) demonstrating God's standard of
absolute perfection. To miss it in the slightest broke our potential fellowship
with a perfect God. Of course, no one could do it. Man was doomed not to
fulfill his appointed destiny and thus to be forever separated from the Father
who created him. However, as a part of His plan, He sent His son, Jesus who
would not only show us the way to live, but would provide the sacrifice for our
shortcomings. ( See Footnote 4) By the death and resurrection of Jesus, we all
have a possibility of restored relationship with the Father. We are here on
Earth to make a decision to appropriate this gift, or turn it down overtly or by
neglect. (See Footnote 5) According to the Bible, either decision results in
eternal (forever) consequences.

God's plan for an eternal existence either way,
leaves the decision with you. (Footnote 6) Jesus claimed, "I am the way, the
truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me." (John 14:6) All
other religions fail at this point. All find ways to work our way up to please
God and thus to inherit what God offers. Only Christianity sees man as
hopelessly lost and in need to being saved by the sacrifice of God's son to save
him. Jesus' way is the only way to God. Jesus said of other ways, "If any man
tries to climb up some other way, he is like a thief and a robber." (John 10:1)
It is your choice to follow Jesus and have eternal life, or to follow your own
best that will lead to eternal separation from God, which the Bible calls
"Hell." Holy Scripture talks about Hell far more often than Heaven since it must
be a truly awful place. By the way, this has nothing to do with church. Don't
confuse the two. The church can help you grow, but can never offer you salvation
or forgiveness. That is only through the blood of Jesus, given up by him for the
blotting out of your sins.
Pascal was one of the greatest thinkers of all
time. He said, "If I choose God's way and I am wrong, I lose nothing. If I
choose against God and am wrong, my loss is infinite." Think on that!
As for me and the Wheeler household, we will follow
the God who loves us. We hope you choose to do the same.
