| 1.
CAUTION! If you download without
pointing to a Temp or Download folder, your download will probably go to your desktop
folder. If you explode it there, you will have over 100 icons on your
desktop. This is not a disaster, but you will have to erase them one by one and
then start the download over! So avoid this headache, begin by creating a folder under your (C:) drive
where you will send the Code Quick files. Right click on the Start button in the left bottom corner of your screen and choose
Explore.
This will open up your Windows Explorer. |
| 2. The Windows Explorer has a narrow box at the top where it says
"Address," delete what ever is in the box and type C:\ and then push ENTER. |
| 3. Click
FILE then NEW then Folder to create a new folder
to send your Code Quick file to. Next, rename by typing CQFiles.
Do it now. Close Windows Explorer and go back to
http://cq2k.com/download.htm |
| 4.
Select the button for either Code Quick 2000 for Win. 95/98/ME or Win
NT/2000. Only the correct version will work on your operating system.
Click to begin the download process. |
| 5. A box will ask you if you want to save or open this file. Click
the radio button which says Save this program to a disk.
Then click OK. |
| 6.
IMPORTANT! A box will come up for
you to select where you want to save the file in your hard drive. Browse by clicking
the little arrow located to the right of the narrow upper window. Select
(C:) in the narrow window at the top. When you do this, other
files locaded in your (C:) drive will pop up in the BIG
window. Find the one you made called CQFiles and click
on its folder icon. Next click OPEN and the CQFiles will pop up to the little window. You are ready to
go! |
| 7. Click
SAVE and the downloading
process will begin where the file C2.exe or cqntno1.zip is loaded into your computer. This
download may take up to 30 minutes depending upon the speed of your Internet Service
Provider connection. |
| 8. Next, you will be notified by your browser that the
download is
complete. Close your internet connection as well as all programs which
are running. |
| 9. Go back to your Windows Explorer to locate the file you just
downloaded. In
the top box, click the down arrow and find (C:). Click
on it and your files will open up including the one you created, CQFiles.
Click on the folder icon for CQFiles. You will
see a file named C2.EXE or cqntno1.exe. |
| 10. The file you downloaded has been compressed so you need to
DOUBLE Click on its folder icon and it will expand in a black box to unlock all the files you have downloaded.

| 11. One of the files is named
Setup.exe
and has a little snail icon next to it. Click on the snail and the setup program
will begin. Follow the onscreen cues to finish the setup process. |
| 12. When the setup program finishes, you will be able to find your
new Code Quick 2000 program by clicking on Start and then on Programs. You will find you have Code Quick included among
your programs. Click to enter for the most fun you have ever had learning Morse
Code! |
