Downloading Code Quick 2000
1. How large is the download file?

Approximately 6 Megabytes, in .zip
or .exe format. You get the Code Quick 2000 program but not the other programs
found only on
the CD Rom. |
2. How long will it take to download it?
|
Dial up will take 20 minutes or so. Be sure your provider doesn't think
nothing is happening and shuts you down. Keep busy on line while you
download. On cable of DSL 1-2 minutes should do it. |
3. Where does the file go when I
download it?
|
Into a setup file wherever you
designate. If you need detailed instructions about doing this,
CLICK HERE. Be sure to write down the destination path so
that you can find the file. If you have a large drive such, download Code Quick 2000 into
it so you can readily find the file to be set up. What ever you do, don't
open the file on your desktop, place it into a new file entitled, "Code
Quick." |
4. How do I install the program?

Code Quick 2000 is a standard
Microsoft
installation. You simply click the start
button on your bottom control panel, click start, run, browse, and locate the file which
you downloaded. Next, open the cq2000 setup.exe file and the setup program takes
over. Follow the onscreen directions. |
5. Will Code Quick 2000 enter any files
which will conflict with any other programs I run?

Since Code Quick 2000 uses only normal
Microsoft
supplied programs for setup, you will probably not
experience any difficulty. Our program may update some of the files which are
discovered to be out of date on your computer. Two new fonts will be installed which
are needed to operate Code Quick 2000. A small number of users have noticed that
some older programs on their computers which use non-standard Microsoft drivers have not
functioned normally after this installation. |
6. Can I check the program out before I
buy it?

We don't offer this feature. However after you download, if you are not
entirely satisfied, you may ask for a refund within 90 days of purchase |
7. What if I decide I want the CD ROM
after I have downloaded and paid for the download?
|
We encourage you to order the CD and
then go ahead and download for no extra charge so that you can be immediately up and
running while you wait for your CD to arrive in the mail. Since the CD contains many
programs not available to download, most purchasers want to take advantage of this good
deal. However, if you take a download and then later decide you want the CD ROM, you
may purchase it for a special upgrade price of $14.95 including
postage and handling.

8. Will Code Quick 2000 run on Windows
3.1, Win 95, Win 98 or Win NT?

Version 1 of Code Quick 2000 was written to run
under Windows 95/98/ME environment. Version
3 currently available for Vista/XPNT/2000 runs flawlessly on the correct operating system. Check
to be sure you are downloading the correct version. |
9. Does Code
Quick run on a MAC?
|
Yes. Load it as a Windows program. Be sure to calibrate the speed using the
PARIS standard included. |
10. What will happen if I buy Code Quick
and the Theory Pools change?
|
Code Quick no longer supports Theory Pools. Go to ARRL.org and search for
"Theory Pools." |
11. If I buy Code Quick 2000 now and I
decide to add the audio CDs later would I qualify for a special discount?

You save lots of money by taking our

12. Was Code Quick 2000 programmed by

13. Do I need to install Code Quick in
my root directory?

Yes, the registration system we use
requires it to be installed in your root directory. You may place any
backup and data files elsewhere if you like. |
14. Is your teaching system the same in
Code Quick 2000 as in the Audio CDs?
|
Code Quick 2000 uses the same basic
structure as the CDs. However, walking you through the initial
application of the program may be best performed in a linear fashion with the cassette
program. Together the two elements provide the best of all worlds, structured
initial learning and unlimited practice. The two programs are designed to work hand
in glove with each other. |
